Monday 14th July Kristin Asbjørnsen Ensemble will do the opening concert at the Molde International Jazz Festival together with the legendary isicathamiya-ensemble Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
In addition to the music performed by the two different ensembles, the stage will also be set for a reunion: In 2010 Kristin was featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo on their accapella “Back to eKasi” township tour around South Africa (produced by Mmino).
At Molde Jazz Festival Ladysmith Black Mambazo will for the first time participate together with Kristin Asbjørnsen Ensemble: Olav Torget – guitars/vocals, Gjermund Silset double bass/electric bass/vocals, Rune Arnesen – drums, Anders Engen – guitars/vocals/perc, Monica Ifejilika – backing vocals, David Solheim – sound, Tor Ditlevsen – lights.

Kristin Asbjørnsen Ensemble will do the opening concert at the Molde International Jazz Festival together with the legendary isicathamiya-ensemble Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
The music will be based on Kristin’s interpretations of African American spirituals and the concert will be a reunion: In 2010 Kristin was featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo on their accapella “Back to eKasi” township tour around South Africa (produced by Mmino).
